Very briefly, Mr. Chairman, we would like to express
our support for the rapid conclusion and implementation
of a mutually acceptable schedule for the removal of
Russian forces and equipment from Moldova.
Announcement of such a withdrawal schedule in
Istanbul would be an appropriate step toward fulfilling
the commitments taken by our leaders in Lisbon, and by
our Ministers in Copenhagen and Oslo.
We remain prepared to assist in the disposal of
Russian equipment in Moldova, both through participation
in an assessment mission and, under the appropriate
circumstances, through financial
assistance.
