Decree Banning Public Meetings

Thank you, Mr. Chair. We thank the representative of
Kyrgyzstan for providing this information. As we said in
Warsaw at the Human Dimension Implementation Meeting,
the freedom of individuals to join with others in
pursuing their legal goals is a basic right and a
cornerstone of civil society. We are pleased that
Kyrgyzstan has withdrawn the proposed ban on public
meetings.
