Statement on Tajikistan

to the Permanent Council, Vienna

Mr. Chairman, I would like to join the European Union in commending Tajikistan for its recent abolition of exit visas.

We believe that this is a good step forward for human rights in Tajikistan.

We urge those countries that still have some type of exit visa regime to also abolish them.
