The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) brings current and future leaders to the U.S. for a 3-4 week-long, intensive round of professional appointments and consultations with their American counterparts. It also provides the opportunity to travel throughout the United States of America. The purpose of the program is to increase mutual understanding. International Visitors are commonly drawn from the fields of government, politics, journalism, economics, education, and labor. International Visitors travel either individually or as part of groups that share a professional focus, such as foreign policy, environmental protection, or the administration of justice. [more]

The Vienna Initiative for Central Asia (VICA) hosts candidates from Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, etc.) to participate in a two-week training program on local and regional government offered by the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.
VICA comprises:
  • the U.S. Embassy in Vienna,
  • the U.S. Mission to the OSCE,
  • the Joint Vienna Institute,
