| OSCE-Thailand Conference - Bangkok, April 25-26, 2006 |
The annual OSCE Asian Partner conference was held this year in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 25 and 26. At the initiative of the Thai government, the conference focused on threats to human security. Topics such as trafficking in persons, corruption, organized crime, small arms and light weapons, as well as threats linked to poverty and pandemic disease were discussed in depth. Many speakers focused on practical solutions to these problems and shared best practices. In addition, various ideas for bringing about a more meaningful partnership between the OSCE participating States and the Asian Partners for Cooperation were proposed.
