| 2004 OSCE Anti-Semitism Conference |
The 2004 OSCE Conference on Anti-Semitism was held in Berlin on April 28 and 29. It focused on the issue of anti-Semitism in the OSCE area, with sessions discussing the roles of government, civil society, education and media in combating prejudice and in promoting tolerance. Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch led the U.S. delegation. Secretary Powell, who also participated in the conference, welcomed the initiative of the Federal Republic of Germany to host the conference in Berlin. The first OSCE conference on anti-Semitism was held in June 2003 in Vienna.
