Checkpoint on the Lachin Corridor

The United States is concerned that Azerbaijan’s establishment of a checkpoint on the Lachin corridor on April 23 undermines efforts to establish confidence in the peace process. The Lachin corridor can facilitate the free and open movement of people and commerce.
We call on both Armenia and Azerbaijan to redouble their efforts to pursue peace talks and to refrain from provocations and hostile actions along the border.
