Serbia’s arrest of Srebrenica suspects shows how regional cooperation can help bring justice: Statement to the PC

The United States welcomes the March 18 arrest in Serbia by Serbian authorities of eight individuals suspected of involvement in the 1995 genocide at Srebrenica as an encouraging step forward toward justice.

These arrests are also notable because they resulted from cooperation between Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Through continued cooperation of this type, it is our hope to see justice for the victims of the atrocities committed in Srebrenica.

Thank you, Mr. Chair.
