Reply to the Austrian OSCE Chairmanship on the Attack in New York City
As delivered by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Harry Kamian
to the Permanent Council, Vienna
November 2, 2017
Thank you very, very much.
I’d also like to, on behalf of the United States, thank those colleagues who were kind enough to reach out over the last couple of days to express their condolences and, more importantly, their support.
We join you in extending our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of all the victims of Tuesday’s cowardly attack in New York City. The United States stands in complete solidarity with our colleagues and friends the Belgians – our fellow OSCE participating State, and Argentina, whose citizens were tragically among the victims.
We also condemn in the strongest possible terms such acts of terrorism. The United States welcomes and appreciates the strong coalition of all partners in the fight against terrorism globally. And as Secretary Tillerson said, we will continue that fight until this threat to all American citizens, and to our friends and allies around the world, is eliminated.
Thank you again, Mr. Chair, for the kind words.
