Renewal of the OSCE Field Mission Mandates for Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and the Observer Mission on the Russian-Ukrainian Border

As delivered by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Kate M. Byrnes
to the Special Permanent Council, Vienna
January 27, 2017

The United States also thanks the Chairmanship, the previous German chair, and delegations for the efforts undertaken to renew the mandates of the OSCE field missions in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, and the mandate of the Observer Mission on the Russian-Ukrainian border. The United States values greatly the important work carried out by each of these missions. We value equally the OSCE Office in Yerevan and the OSCE Office in Tajikistan. The United States stands ready to assist the Chairmanship in its continuing efforts to renew the mandate of these two missions and to support the important work that they do.

Thank you, Mr. Chair.
