I thank the distinguished Russian colleague for his response, regardless of my wishing that he would commit to the reconsideration of a law that is inconsistent with international law and Russia’s commitments.
The reference to U.S. law reminded me of one of the commitments that my delegation made at HDIM this year, which was that – because there seems to be confusion over U.S. law, as well as the difference between our law and Russia’s so-called ‘foreign agents’ law and those laws in other States – we committed to host a seminar or presentation that would explain those differences, and I will ensure that our distinguished Russian colleague–and all colleagues–receives an invitation to that event when do it.
Thank you.
