Along with every participating State except Russia, and the overwhelming majority of the international community, the United States supports Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.  We do not accept the validity of any agreements between the Russian Federation and the de facto authorities in Georgia’s occupied regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, including the recently adopted so-called “agreement on the state border” between Russia and the de facto authorities in South Ossetia.

The United States reaffirms its strong support for Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration.

Thank you, Mr. Chair.
