Sneak Preview: The Week Ahead at the OSCE, January 8 to 12
With the winter recess now over, regular business resumes at the OSCE under the 2018 Italian Chairmanship.
The headline event this week is on Thursday, when Italian Foreign Minister and new OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Angelino Alfano addresses the OSCE Permanent Council, officially inaugurating Italy’s Chairmanship of the OSCE.
Foreign Minister Alfano will also detail Italy’s priorities and work plan for the year ahead. The United States will be among the delegations to respond.
Alfano last visited the Permanent Council in July 2017, where he outlined Italy’s aims for its Chairmanship this year. You can read our response to that presentation here.
