Wildfires in Greece

to the Permanent Council, Vienna July 27, 2023
The United States is closely monitoring the tragic wildfires in Greece and their impact on local citizens and visitors. We express our deepest condolences to the relatives of the two pilots who lost their lives battling the wildfires. We are encouraged by the response of the courageous people fighting the fires. Our thoughts are with the Greek government and people as thousands are evacuated from their homes.
